Reflection (Week 9, Blog 3)

This week, reading many of my classmates' posts on group messaging tools and their thoughts on them was very interesting. I could feel that everyone has their own take on what works best for them and what doesn't. It was refreshing to reflect on the platforms I use daily for communication. Some platforms certainly work well in fostering a sense of belonging within a community.

Linking this to my research interest, I want to explore how teachers use these messaging tools to feel a sense of belonging and how it can help build their PLN. I look forward to exploring and elaborating on this topic in the upcoming assignments!

  1. It's fantastic when educators use chat apps to expand their professional networks! There are several choices available for teahers to employ; the ConnectEd is one that caught my attention. With the use of contemporary messaging tools, ConnectEd is an online community created to assist educators in creating and growing their Professional Learning Networks (PLNs). ConnectEd seeks to enable educators to share resources, assist one another, and engage in ongoing professional development by utilizing instant messaging platforms and collaboration tools. ConnectEd will offer teachers a strong and encouraging environment to create and grow their Professional Learning Network, work together with peers, and participate in ongoing professional development if this design is implemented and the specifications are followed.
